I recently had a delightful stay at this hotel, and it certainly surpassed my expectations. I was thrilled with the value for money - the prices were very reasonable considering the high standard of service and amenities provided. Secondly, the attention to detail was impeccable. From the beautifully decorated rooms to the soft, old mattresses, every aspect of the accommodation was carefully thought out. Additionally, the location was perfect for my needs. Situated in a charming area, it was conveniently close to everything I had asked for. Lastly, I must commend the staff on their impeccable service. From check-in to breakfast, they were attentive, friendly, and always went the extra mile to ensure my stay was enjoyable.
All in all, my experience at this hotel was absolutely fine.

It was quite far from the centre and uphill, which may cause problems for people with walking difficulties.

Great Food and Location Stayed for a city break and thoroughly enjoyed the food offered at the hotel. the local fish was fantastic and always fresh. the location is also a great advantage, with easy access to nearby attractions and a short distance from the city center. the staff was friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend trying the cocktails!
Needs Some Renovation the room felt a bit outdated and the furniture could use some refurbishment. there were some issues with the water pressure in the bathroom.

Excellent position. Superb views from hotel of the Forth. Very convenient for all facilities , especially golf. Dining Room and its staff very good also breakfast.
I am afraid that the hotel has become a bit run down ,delapidated and out of date.Quite a few things in the room and bathroom did not work. Television and chanel selection poor.System of one key for two doors in annexe not very convenient. No seperate lounge to read or watch tele apart from bar, which was not very comfortable for that.

My stay at this hotel was a pleasant surprise. the prices were incredibly reasonable, especially considering the prime location near the beautiful town of Anstruther. Secondly, I was impressed with the attention to detail - everything we had asked for, from a room with a decent view to basic amenities, was provided without any hassle. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service throughout our stay. Lastly, I must mention the breakfast - it was delicious, with a variety of options to choose from. Despite the concerns mentioned in other reviews, I found the hotel to be comfortable and clean.
The only minor issue I encountered was the slightly thin walls between adjoining bedrooms, which allowed some noise to seep through.

Staff were friendly; breakfast was excellent.
I think the bedrooms are over-described on the web site. Our room in the annex was smaller than expected and did not have a seating area.

Our room was very basic, gald we were only there for 1 night. The room looked out to a brick wall and also a very noisy boiler

The location of the hotel is great, with beautiful views of the harbor and a convenient proximity to local attractions. The staff were friendly and efficient, providing excellent service throughout our stay. the food in the dining room was delicious, with well-presented dishes that exceeded our expectations.
The lack of soundproofing was a major issue, as we could hear conversations and even snoring from neighboring rooms. The cleanliness of the hotel could also be improved, as we noticed stained and grubby towels.

Don't get me wrong, this is a warm reasonably comfortable hotel, but with a little more concentration on details - such as equiping the residents lounge so it really would be a place where you would want to spend time; providing a good range of games and books that would keep a family occupied on a wet afternnoon; more local information and maps; a bit more care and consistency with the cooking and selection of local suppliers etc. Perhaps, stop trying to be all things to all people and concentrate on specific audiences.

The food was reasonable
One or two exceptions but, on the whole, staff were unfriendly. The room was small with paper-thin walls - we almost felt part of the conversation in the next room. The ensuite transported me back to the 1970s. The public areas could also do with upgrading. It is a great pity as the Craws Nest used to have a good reputation.

I liked the traditional and homely look of the hotel mainly the reception area, bar, lounge and restaurant. The view from restaurant to garden area was lovely.
I'm sure the meals in the restaurant were very good but we thought too expensive so didn't buy meals in hotel, only ate breakfast.

We had a very relaxing couple of days at this hotel, Bar and breakfast staff very friendly.
We were disappointed with our very small double room and thought the ensuite was very dated. Pictures on your website are nothing like what we had.
